THOMPSON M-TEC OFFERS FREE CAREER TRAINING TO CURRENT GED STUDENTS
In Partnership with Zeeland Adult Education Program

Holland, MI- Through a state of Michigan Special Programs grant, Thompson Michigan Technical Education Center (M-TEC) in Holland, a service of Ottawa Area Intermediate School District, is offering free training in certified nursing assistant (CNA), plumbing, property maintenance technician, robotics and welding classes to qualifying individuals currently enrolled in General Educational Development (GED) and Advanced English as a Second Language class in partnership with Zeeland Adult Education.

OAC TEACHER CONSULTANTS GIVE BACK

Teacher Consultants for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) and Blind/Visually Impaired, and Orientation and Mobility Specialists at Ottawa Area Center (OAC), a service of Ottawa Area ISD, celebrated the season by giving to others. The group collected non-perishable food items, cleaning and laundry supplies, personal care items, and new and gently used women’s clothing to donate to Resilience: Advocates for Ending Violence, which provides a continuum of care to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Ottawa and Allegan counties. Lead DHH Teacher Consultant for OAC, Sara Sibble, said she and her coworkers wanted to give to the community while supporting families that may have a need. “In the spirit of giving, we simply wanted to think of others this holiday season,” Sibble said.

STUDENTS AND STAFF DONATE THANKSGIVING BASKETS FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES

Holland, MI- Students and instructors in the Agriculture and Animal Science, Culinary Arts, and Pastry Arts and Baking programs at Careerline Tech Center donate Thanksgiving food baskets to Tech students and their families in need to ensure all Tech students can enjoy a homemade Thanksgiving feast. Through these baskets, students build upon classroom skills and help others at the same time.
