CAREERLINE TECH CENTER SCHOLARSHIP AND APPRENTICESHIP RECIPIENTS RECOGNIZED
Holland, MI – Careerline Tech Center (CTC) recognized 42 students for their combined post-secondary scholarship earnings of over $385,000 at the Careerline Tech Center Scholarship Awards Ceremony at CTC. Eighteen students were also sponsored by local businesses to continue their education through a trade apprenticeship that combines job-related technical instruction with structured on-the-job learning experiences.
CAREERLINE TECH CENTER STUDENTS EARN BREAKING TRADITIONS AWARDS
Holland, MI- Five Careerline Tech Center students were recipients of the 2022 Breaking Tradition Awards from the Michigan Department of Education. The awards are given to students who have demonstrated success in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that are nontraditional to their gender. The recipients are:
OAISD PARTNERS WITH SPECIAL OLYMPICS MICHIGAN
Holland, MI- Students in the Young Adult Services (YAS) program for students with special needs ages 18-26, a service of Ottawa Area ISD, are learning how to be healthier thanks to a partnership with Special Olympics Michigan (SOMI). “SOMIfit has been a wonderful opportunity for our students to gain health and fitness skills that can last a lifetime,” Ashley Lenhart, Special Education Teacher for OAISD Young Adult Services- Zeeland. “The activities have been adapted to meet our students' individual needs allowing them to successfully participate and be active.”
OAISD VIRTUAL TRANSITION SPRING WORKSHOP SERIES
Holland, MI-Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) Transition Network Team announces the Spring Virtual Transition Workshop Series Tuesday, April 26, from 6:00-7:00 PM and Tuesday, May 24, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM via Zoom. Parents, guardians, family members, teachers, school staff, and anyone interested in helping students with a disability in grades 9-12 and their transition into life after school are invited to attend.
