GOVERNOR REAPPOINTS OAISD EMPLOYEE TO MICHIGAN PREK-12 LITERACY COMMISSION

Holland, MI- Kyle Mayer, Ph.D., assistant superintendent for Instructional Services at Ottawa Area ISD, has been reappointed for another two-year term on the Michigan PreK-12 Literacy Commission. The term commences November 1, 2019 and expires October 31, 2023.

SCHOOL PERSONNEL AND LAW ENFORCEMENT MEET TO ENHANCE SCHOOL SAFETY

Holland, MI- The Ottawa Area Secure Schools Network (OASSN) —a combined effort between schools, law enforcement, and emergency responders within the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) to enhance school safety across the region— hosted a fall Summit September 19 at the Ottawa County Fillmore Administration Building in West Olive.

CAREERLINE TECH CENTER ALUMNUS PLACES THIRD IN WORLDWIDE COMPETITION

Ryan Meppelink, former Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanics program student at Careerline Tech Center and Zeeland East High School graduate, won a bronze medal in Heavy Vehicle Technology at the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 competition in Kazan, Russia on August 27.

TWO STUDENTS WIN FIRST PLACE AWARDS AT 4-H COMPETITION DURING SUMMER LEARNING

Holland, MI- Ottawa Area Intermediate School District's (OAISD) Careerline Tech Center  (CTC) Agricultural and Animal Science students Reeanna Etts  and Danika Laangstra won first place awards in the Market Class category at the Ottawa County Fair 4-H/FFA competition Monday, July 22-27 in Holland.

CAREERLINE TECH STUDENT WINS NATIONAL COMPETITION

Holland, MI- Careerline Tech Center (CTC) Diesel and Heavy Equipment program student and recent home school graduate Ben DeVries was named National Champion in the Diesel Equipment Technology competition at the 2019 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference held June 24-28 in Louisville, Kentucky.
