Roles and Functions

The role of the Advisory Committee consists of providing advice and assistance to CTC staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs. General functions of the Advisory Committee are:

  • to promote and assist in maintaining quality programs
  • to provide a communication link between Careerline Tech Center and the business community
  • to review curriculum and provide input on development of related materials
  • to represent business/industry viewpoints in discussions regarding program direction
  • to assist in providing work-based learning experiences and placement opportunities
  • to provide input on the development of short and long-term program planning
  • to provide input on equipment needs related to program direction
  • to assist in exit testing of students
  • to provide input during program reviews
  • to serve as a resource for visiting speakers, field trips, etc.
