Applied Welding Technology
This program provides basic MIG and TIG welding training to inexperienced welders in three segments. Offers articulated college credit.
Welding I
20-hour course that offers hands-on training in arc (SMAW), and oxyacetylene cutting and welding processes.
MIG/GMAW welding
32-hour project-based course that emphasizes personal instruction.
Skills learned include:
- Gas metal arc welding
- Troubleshooting
- Minor repairs to MIG welders
- Basic MIG welding processes including butt, lap and T-joint welds in the flat position on various metal thicknesses
- Introduction and limited practice on aluminum MIG
TIG/GTAW welding
