Local District CTE Program Assistance

Ottawa Area ISD is committed to helping local school districts establish, implement, and enhance Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs that prepare students for high-demand careers. Through expert guidance, resources, and hands-on support, we assist schools in developing high-quality CTE programs that align with industry needs and provide students with meaningful career pathways. Our services support students from preschool through graduation, ensuring career development begins early and continues through their educational journey.

For districts with existing CTE programs, we provide support in enhancing and expanding current offerings to ensure they stay relevant in today’s evolving job market. This includes:

  • Updating course offerings to reflect industry trends.
  • Integrating new technologies and learning resources to improve the educational experience.
  • Expanding access to additional industry certifications and credentials.

Our approach to career development is built on connecting a student’s interests, skills, and values through a thoughtful inquiry process that helps them discover the right career path for their future. This process is guided by three key questions:

What am I INTERESTED in that will keep me moving forward?
Identifying passions and career fields that spark motivation and long-term success.

Where am I SKILLFUL and finding success?
Understanding personal strengths and skills to match with careers where students can thrive.

What do I VALUE for my future?
Reflecting on personal values and goals to help students make decisions that align with their aspirations and desired lifestyle.
