Transition Services

Transition services are activities that prepare students with disabilities to move from school to post-school life. The activities are based on the student"s needs, preferences, and interests, and shall include needed activities in the following areas: Instruction.

Independent (1-2 Year Program)

Designed for students who are more independent and demonstrate that they will be safe and secure within the community without educational staff present. Within this structure, students will attend less than 5 days per week, and will work to decrease their time at the center moving toward adult independence. Students also must have potential for post secondary training and/or competitive employment, including a desire to work. Students will be expected to reach their goals within one to two years.
