Children, Youth & Family Programs
- The MSU Extension Educator provides informal, research-based information to people at all stages of the life cycle. Among the wide range of resources available for families are:
- Educational Children, Youth & Family programs and workshops are provided upon request at various locations in the county including: schools, agencies, churches, and colleges.
- Educational weekly radio programs on WGHN (92.1 FM or 1370 AM every Wednesday at 5:25 a.m. or 12:25 p.m.) and bi-weekly radio programs on WHTC's "Talk of the Town" (1450 AM every second and fourth Monday at 9:30 a.m.) where listeners can call in with questions during the program at 616-395-1450).
- A quarterly Children, Youth & Family Newsletter is available to community members, as well as numerous educational MSU Extension Bulletins, when requested.
- The MSU Extension Family Nutrition Program provides nutrition education to income-eligible families on-site, at local agencies or within the home. Topics include the food guide pyramid, understanding food labels, meal planning, making the most of food dollars, and food safety.
- Information on Human Development, Family Resource Management (Budgeting), Youth Development, Volunteer Development and Management.
