Born Learning is a public engagement and material distribution campaign that provides important information about what young children need every day to ensure quality early learning. Designed to support you in your critical role as a child's first teacher, Born Learning materials are made available through the efforts of United Way.

Circle of Parents Support Groups

Bring the family and join other parents for meaningful conversation about raising children. Parents choose the topics. Trained facilitators lead the discussion.  This parent support group is for any parents with children of all ages, free to residents of Ottawa County. Join the group at any time. Childcare provided.  You must register to ensure enough food and childcare is available.  To register contact Julie at 616.396.2301

Love and Logic Classes

Learn simple, practical techniques that can help eliminate stress and arguments often associated with child discipline. LOVE helps children grow through mistakes. LOGIC calls for children to live with the consequences of their choices. Learn how to provide choices that empower children to be responsible and to make better choices.  To inquire about classes call 396-2301

Play n Learn Literacy Playgroups

Designed for families with children ages 0 - 5. Monthly sessions are based on children's books. Along with a story, finger plays, crafts, activities and a snack centered around the book are included. Each family receives a children's book to take home. Child development and reading readiness information is also available for parents.

Strengthening Families

Join other parents for relationship building ideas before teen challenges arise. Group activities with your 10-14 year old youth. Dinner provided and childcare is available for younger children.
