Professional Learning Opportunities and Consulting Services from REMC 7
It is the mission of REMC 7 to provide educators in Allegan and Ottawa counties with equitable access to information, professional learning opportunities, teaching materials, and resources through collaborative partnerships and consortium activities.
The Instructional Technology Team is available for professional learning opportunities as outlined below. Training sessions must include a minimum of 8 participants and can be scheduled directly with the consultant indicated. Training and consulting services are customized around your needs.
MediaNet - REMC 7's online booking system! MediaNet is the digital media management system that gives you instant access to media resources through a simple web-based interface.
Discovery Education streaming - Discovery Education streaming is a digital video-on-demand and online teaching service to help improve students' retention and test scores; it is aligned to U.S. state and provincial standards. Learn360 -The premier website for K-12 multi-media educational resources.
Internet Safety - Basic strategies to safely use the Internet, including what students should not share; as well as dealing with cyber bullying. Resources for free Internet Safety curriculum and videos will be available.
Plagiarism and Copyright - Combat student plagiarism through tried and true strategies and easy to use programs. Ideas to share with teachers, media specialists and strategies to teach students in avoiding plagiarism.
ASK Program - Author, Specialist and Knowledge is a curriculum-based literature program that uses video to connect students with authors and subject area specialists.
Grant Assistance - Help find, write, and/or review grants to fund projects which use technology to improve teaching and learning, e.g. Best Buy te@ch grant, MACUL grant, Samsung grant, Target grant, Dollar General grant and TAPS grant.
REMC Bid Assistance - Assist with hardware and software purchase decisions from the REMC Volume Buy site. Assistance includes help with selecting the best projector, cabling, or software including the student select program. (REMC 7)
