OAISD RECEIVES GRANT TO SUPPORT LITERACY GROWTH IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

Holland, MI- Grand Haven Area Community Foundation (GHACF) recently awarded Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) a $145,000 grant payable over two years for World-Class Classroom Libraries through the GHACF Greatest Needs Fund.

futurePREP’d TEAMS AND MASTER TEACHERS WIN STATE COMPETITION

Holland, MI — Student teams and teachers participating in Ottawa Area Intermediate School District’s (OAISD) futurePREP’d program recently received top awards at the Michigan Design Prize Awards Ceremony hosted by the Michigan Design Council (MDC) in Ann Arbor on October 25.

OAISD Hosts Transition Expo for Young Adults with Disabilities

Holland, MI-Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) Transition Network Team invites students in 9-12 grade and post-high school, parents, guardians, family members, teachers, school staff and anyone interested in helping students transition into life after school to attend the free Building the Future Transition Expo on Monday, November 13 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the OAISD Educational Services Building in Holland. Over 20 Community Agencies will be present to discuss the services, resources and programs available for young adults with disabilities as they prepare for their future.

OAISD Works with Community Agencies to Develop Collaborative Approach to School Safety

Holland, MI- The Ottawa Area Secure Schools Network (OASSN) —a combined effort between schools, law enforcement, and emergency responders within the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) to enhance school safety across the region— hosted a Fall Summit September 27 at the Ottawa County Fillmore Administration Building in West Olive. Over 85 representatives from public, private, and charter schools, law enforcement agencies, and fire departments attended the event and began the discussion on regional collaboration.

STUDENTS WIN TOP HONORS AT NATIONAL GRAPHICS COMPETITION

Holland, MI-Five Careerline Tech Center (CTC) Printing and Imaging Technology students received Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Golden Image awards for excellence at the SGIA Golden Image Competition held October 12 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
