Office Expert CORE Program (OECP)

This program provides students with the training they need to master the basic skills today's employers require in an office professional. Students complete the Foundation Skill Classes and a minimum of four electives in the Accounting, Administrative Support, or Medical Office fields to receive their OECP Certificate. Accounting/Payroll

Students will learn the basics of accounting for business applications and will have the foundation skills to perform accounting operations for a sole proprietorship or a corporation. Students will gain an understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions. Inventory valuation, accounting for uncollectible accounts, depreciation, and notes are also studied.

Administrative Office

Students will learn the basic skills to function in an office environment with the ability to manage information, create written documents, maintain schedules, operate the Microsoft Office Suite, maintain databases, and perform accounting tasks. Students will have the ability to earn Microsoft Office Specialist certification in Word Core. ​

Medical Office

This program includes instruction on how to function in an administrative role within a medical office. It includes patient scheduling; tracking patient activity; maintaining the integrity and protection of patient information; sending and receiving reminders, messages, and emails. This program also provides the knowledge and skills needed to successfully perform insurance and billing related duties in a medical office.

Upon completion of the program, students can prepare and take the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) certifications through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

This program assists you in obtaining Microsoft Office certification. Students will have the ability to earn Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) 2010 certifications in the office suite as well as IC3.

Web Design & Development

This Fast Track program is designed for students who want to obtain training in web design in less than six months. The core program prepares students to take professional certification examinations required as a web designer and is formatted around in class and out-of-class work time. The four core courses are 24 to 32 hours of in class time each, with 24 additional hours per class necessary to accomplish the work to prepare for the exams. The total core program length is at least 208 hours and the four courses included in the program are Intro to Web Development, Advanced HTML5 and CSS, User Design Interface, and JavaScript.

Individuals with appropriate experience may take courses individually upon successful completion of an entry assessment.

Prerequisites: For individuals who desire to complete the entire program it is recommended that they meet the following: ability to type 40 words per minute, a score of 5 in NCRC WorkKeys Reading for Information, 4 in Locating Information, and Math; possession of a home computer that is six years old or newer
